Department Initiatives
- Serves as the Secretariat for Bangalore Society of Oral pathologists for Oral Cancer (BSOPOC)
- Worked with Karnataka Cancer Society & Indian Cancer Society to screen patients and create awareness about Oral Cancer in various areas in & around bangalore
- Part of a Tumor Board in association with Dept of Oral Medicine, Public Health Dentistry & Medical Departments from CDSIMER
- Collaborations with BMCRI & CDSIMER for Forensic Odontology postings for Interns
- Collaborated with Dept of Labour, Govt. of Karnataka
- Collaborated with Dept of Child & Women Welfare, Dept of Karnataka
- Conducts many clinical short studies n the Dept
- MOU with National Oral Cancer Registry (NOCR) Database for Oral Cancer by Indian Dental Association.

Ongoing Research
1. Prevalence of oral mucosal lesions in substance abusers in Bangalore city-A cross sectional study.
2. Detectiopn and quantification of Fusobacterium Nucleatum and PorphyromanasGingivalis in Gutka users in Bangalore.
3. Assessment of Oral Health locus of control among oral cancer patients in a tertiary care centre Bangalore.
Community Outreach Activities:
- Oral cancer screening Camp conducted by Department of Oral Pathology in association with Bangalore Group of Oral Pathologists for Oral Cancer (BSOPOC) at Lalbagh and MalurKolardistict respectively on 25th Feb 2020 and march 3rd2020.
The II & III BDS students & students from the Intern batch of DSCDS registered, actively participated and also presented Scientific Papers & Posters during the Scientific deliberations held at the recently concluded 46thIDA Karnataka State Dental Conference at M S Ramaiah University, Bangalore.
It is heartening to know that our III BDS students were successful in bagging the top 3 awards in the Scientific Poster category at the event.
They were guided by Dr.Krishnanand PS, Professor & Head of Department of Oral Pathology, DSCDS & Dr. Vidya MA, Senior Lecturer in Department of Oral pathology, DSCDS. The results of the Poster event are as follows:

CDE Program and Indian Oral Cancer Awareness Torch Rally at GDCRI Bangalore on 30/06/2023 in association with IAOMP. Interns (Simran,Sirisha,Shiksha) from Our College banged second prize in quiz on Oral Cancer.
