Prosthodontics is one of the specialties in dentistry which endeavors to restore the function of dental and oral tissues using aesthetic principles. The department emphasizes to rehabilitate completely and partially edentulous patients with complete dentures, removable and fixed partial dentures, maxillofacial prosthesis and intra and extra oral implants.

The department is keen in imparting comprehensive skills to the undergraduate and postgraduate students. The clinical training begins in third year BDS and the students are trained and tested to carry our treatment ranging from simple cases to difficult ones. The Post graduates carry out routine treatment as well as complex cases involving complete dentures, cast partial dentures, fixed prosthesis, implants and maxillofacial cases. Along with cases, numerous short and long studies are carried out for their dissertations, paper presentation and publications under the supervision of the faculties.

The department has also extended hands to reach the unfortunate by maintaining ties with old age homes, Satellite centers, Primary health centers and participating in many camps.
