HOD's Message


It is indeed my pleasure to welcome you to the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Dayananda Sagar College of Dental Sciences, perhaps the most distinguished specialty in the field of Dentistry.

The Department is affiliated with Sagar Hospital, Banashankari as well as with the Dayananda Sagar University's Dr.Chandramma Dayananda Sagar Institute of Medical Education and Research(CDSIMER) at Harohalli, Kanakapura. Further, our education programs are in line with the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences Curriculum and research programs are supported by strong partnerships with Health authorities and community partners and also in association with the outreach camps with other departments.

We have three operation theatres, one at CDSIMER catering to the Rural and Urban population, one at Sagar Hospitals, Banashankari catering to Urban, Corporate as well as Insurance patients as well as one within the Department fully equipped to manage cases under Local anaesthesia and Conscious Sedation.

Proud to say that 14 batches and 29 Post Graduates who have passed out from the Department from the inception of Post Graduation in 2006. As part of the academic curriculum, we provide training for the Under Graduate, Post Graduate Program as well as the Ph.D Program which are offered.

Research is one of the important areas of prominence for the Department. It is indeed our continued commitment to provide all our patients with excellent care, to train doctors in the field of Maxillofacial Surgery for the future and to make innovative advancements in knowledge and practice.

Service delivery takes most of the effort of the staff in the Department. This service is provided within the umbrella of the Dental college and Sagar hospitals. The primary objective is to deliver a brilliant training  programme  for students with the excellence of  the research oriented  and committed department faculty members.
